6 Word Memoirs

This past term we transitioned from writing Personal Memoirs to Memoir Poetry to a 6-Word Memoir.  In the end, choosing just six words to represent an event is difficult.  I hope that you will take some time to enjoy our memoirs:

The New Year is a time filled with resolutions and new beginnings.  In an effort to promote awaremess of healthy ways, you will create a Health Magazine of your own.  Your magazine is to include the following:

Amazing Artist Assignment

AMAZING ARTISTS
In this fast paced society, we often don't take time to appreciate the value in art.  YOU are going to begin this New Year making sure that the rest of the class appreciates YOUR talent.
Your job is to do the following:
  • select an artist of your choice
  • once you have made the selection you will begin preparing your oral presentation (which will last 4-7 minutes)
  • you will find a compete list of what you will need in your presentaiton below:
  1. YOU will become the artist and present the information in first person
  2. Your presentation will be created using Google Presentations - but there is ONE catch... your presentation cannot include any words.  You can use the notes section though to place point form reminders of what that page contains... but DO NOT READ directly from these notes PLEASE!
  3. Your presentation must include: your life story (at lesat the highlights), 5-7 pieces of your work (where you will share the title, inspiraiton and any other interesting facts about the piece), a description of the art style you are famous for
  4. Finally, you will create your OWN piece of art by this artist (**I will be assessing effort here as I realize you are not in fact a famous artist ;)
** Each artist can only be selected by one person.  I will createa  google form in our shared drive called AMAZING ARTISTS so that you will know who has already been taken.  The artists will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.
Some suggestions you might consider studying:
  1. Renoir
  2. Leonardo da Vinci
  3. Michelangelo
  4. Rembrandt

WE Give

Our WE Give campaign was an overwhelming success!  The generosity of our St. Rose families is truly amazing.  As a school we TWO cars full of new toys and socks to donate to Divine Mercy and their Christmas giving program.

Special thanks to our WE Act club for your announcements, posters, and enthusiasm as the gifts piled up in our classroom!  I am so proud of all of you!

Be an UPstander!

I love this song!  One of my favourite lines is "In God's Eye's We're All the Same,"  We all need to see the world with the same love and respect God does!

Paracord Bracelets

Of all the videos I have watched, this one seems to clearly explain the process.

Steps to note:
1. Make middle section first - measure your wrist and make sure to add enough for the knot
2. For a 7-1.2 inch wrist, you will want about 3 feet of each colour

** Attaching the colours using a candle is a job for AN ADULT!
